Overview
OQ is hiring a road safety engineer in Sohar to provide HSSE support for logistics and transport across its downstream operations. The engineer will own road safety standards, in-vehicle monitoring and journey management for company and contractor fleets.
Key responsibilities
- Run road safety awareness campaigns and driver development programmes
- Investigate vehicle incidents and near misses and follow up on corrective actions
- Audit internal roads, traffic arrangements and contractor fleet compliance
- Monitor journeys and IVMS data and lead the response to overdue journeys
Requirements
- Solid HSE fundamentals and fleet safety knowledge
- Experience with in-vehicle monitoring systems and journey management
- Root cause analysis skills, ideally with TapRooT
- Familiarity with Oman traffic law and the OPAL road safety standard
