Overview
SOMS has a contract role in Oman for an MEP QC inspector to inspect HVAC, plumbing, drainage and electrical installations, witness tests and support commissioning on industrial and major construction projects.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect HVAC, plumbing, drainage and electrical installations against drawings, specifications and codes
- Witness pressure, duct leakage and cable insulation resistance tests
- Check received materials, certificates, equipment preservation and test equipment calibration
- Join mechanical completion and commissioning walk-downs and follow up non-conformance and punch items
Requirements
- Diploma, HNC/HND or degree in mechanical, electrical or MEP engineering
- Relevant MEP QA/QC inspection experience, preferably in oil and gas or major projects
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC and IPC standards and the ability to read drawings and inspection plans
- Good English and computer skills, and willingness to work across different sites
