Overview
SOMS has a contract opening in Oman for a civil QC inspector to check civil and structural works on project sites, preferably in oil and gas, against approved drawings, inspection test plans and international standards.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect earthworks, concrete, blockwork, structural steel, roads and building works for compliance
- Review quality control plans, inspection test plans and method statements, and witness tests
- Check materials, certificates and calibration status and flag non-compliant materials
- Raise and close out non-conformance reports and punch items and support quality audits
Requirements
- HNC/HND or diploma in civil engineering or a related technical field
- At least 8 years in civil construction and MEP projects, preferably oil and gas
- Good knowledge of QA/QC codes and the ability to read drawings and inspection test plans
- Good English and MS Office skills, and willingness to work across different sites
