Overview
SOMS is recruiting a senior well engineer in Oman to support single or multi-rig drilling, completion and workover operations, giving office and real-time technical support so wells are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Provide office-based support to the well engineering manager and real-time support to rig-site supervisors
- Plan and design wells including casing, tubing, cementing, fluids, bottom-hole assemblies and hydraulics
- Standardise drilling and workover practices, lead trials such as new bit runs and apply lessons from offset wells
- Monitor well costs and prepare technical reports and operational lookaheads
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
- At least 10 years of exploration and production well engineering experience, ideally 15 or more
- Valid IWCF Supervisor / Level 4 surface stack certificate and deep, directional and horizontal drilling experience
- Contract management experience; exposure to drilling operations in Oman is preferred
