Overview
OQ's refining arm is hiring a safety engineer (Engineer or Senior Engineer level) at its Sohar refinery to plan, implement and assure process and occupational safety across operations and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assess safety performance and prepare strategic and operational safety plans for the refinery
- Design and roll out safety systems, procedures and equipment in line with company HSE standards
- Lead or support incident investigations and hazard studies such as HAZOP, HAZID and QRA
- Manage contractor HSSE requirements, audits and safety training content
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; 5-7 years for Engineer or 6-8 years for Senior Engineer
- Refinery, petrochemical or wider oil and gas experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001/14001, permit-to-work, audits and local HSSE regulations
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is desirable
