Overview
OQ Exploration & Production is hiring a lead electrical engineer for its operated assets in Muscat. The role is the technical authority for electrical design review, power system studies and integrity of oil and gas facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Review and approve electrical designs, calculations and specifications
- Run or oversee load flow, short circuit and protection coordination studies
- Check contractor deliverables and evaluate equipment vendors
- Take part in HAZOP and SIL reviews
- Support commissioning and operations on brownfield modifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering with a post-degree qualification
- 10+ years of electrical engineering, ideally in oil, gas or energy
- Experience with ETAP, SKM or similar study tools
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC and hazardous area standards
- Experience specifying HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers and drives
