Overview
OQ's refining and petroleum industries business is hiring a financial accounting professional in its Finance division, working between Muscat and Sohar on IFRS reporting, period-end close and consolidation, complex accounting topics and the company accounting policy manual.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management, group and statutory reports in line with IFRS and capital-market requirements
- Run the close calendar and consolidation process and compile consolidated financial statements with the related controls
- Handle non-standard accounting such as impairment, employee benefits, site restoration and intangibles, and write technical accounting papers
- Coordinate with internal, state and external auditors and work with treasury, tax, legal and operations teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field; a professional accounting qualification is an advantage
- At least 5 years of relevant experience (6-8 years for the senior level), with oil, gas or energy sector exposure
- Strong grasp of IFRS financial reporting and experience dealing with auditors, regulators, lenders or investors
- Working knowledge of SAP and MS Office, fluent English, with Arabic desirable
